A MM/PP consultant with twenty years of SAP experience brings thirty-five years of experience in the automotive, high tech, aerospace, public sector and chemical industries. Completed SAP projects have ranged from a one and a half year implementation at a large, automotive supplier to a three-month implementation at a small, discrete manufacturer. Currently, the lead consultant on the MM Team (MM, PP, EHS, & Manugistics) for the multi-year Navy ERP Project. A team player who can be counted on to take responsibility for areas outside of the PP or MM modules including lead roles in project management. Developed and implemented processes for detecting and correcting failed idocs used in logistics and inventory transactions. Provided training for superusers on an as needed basis. Provided ad-hoc reports to assist in troubleshooting various logistics and inventory issues and to provide management overview information. Assisted with various defects and technical change requests in the wholesale logistics processes.

Upgraded MM (Purchasing and Inventory) from 4.5B to 4.6C. Developed and implemented test plan utilizing CATTs where applicable. Provided training on ASAP methodology. Configured cross-company cross-country stock transport orders. Implemented DMS (Document Management) with Vault data carriers and the EAI Viewer

Led team to correct errors with export process involving idoc errors with: Outbound Deliveries; Inbound Deliveries; Shipments; Handling Units; Customer invoices; and Vendor invoices. Provided management reports of team’s work using ABAP Queries.

Configured new 4.6C inventory and purchasing transactions. Fully implemented purchasing to include: Purchase requisitions (with on-line approval), RFQ’s, quotations, purchase orders, contracts, automatic purchase orders, scheduling agreements, schedule agreement releases (forecasts and JIT), automatic output determination (print out, fax, and EDI), inbound deliveries (ASN – faxed and EDI), quota arrangements, vendor returns (using outbound deliveries and the auto debit memo), ERS (Evaluated Receipt Settlement), precious metal pricing, vendor consignment, and logistics invoice verification. Added some configuration for automatic account determination, physical inventory and batch management. Assisted with the configuration of WM at integration points with MM. Basic implementation of ESM – External Services Management. Provided training on LSMW and ASAP.

Configured Engineering Change Management and Document Management in releases 4.5B and 4.6B. Assisted with the implementation of Workflow for Engineering Change Management including using MS-Outlook as the Workflow front-end. Developed restructure of the Bills of Materials to utilize existing functionality in SAP and reduce duplication of master data.

Responsible for implementing the logistics portion of the High Tech – Industry Package Solution. Developed a unique valuation process to match the unusual consignment business process that TechSmart.COM used to manage their inventory. Specified and tested a program to automate this five step process. Specified and tested a two-way interface program with United Parcel System’s World Ship Internet software. The ship-to data was fed from SAP into UPS systems and the tracking number was returned to the SAP delivery note. Configured and implemented Symbol Technology’s radio frequency barcode system to automate inventory movements at two plants. Developed several CATT’s to load master data and configuration.

Responsible for managing the budget and schedule on the Engine Completion project to implement a new plant with a new profit center hierarchy and new general ledger accounts. Configured system to implement standard SOP. Created new customer requirements class and new planning strategy to account for a unique sales process and the unique transfer of requirements to MRP. Created new MRP type and Lot Size in order to match a unique MRP business process. Loaded production data using CATT’s. Provided user training on SOP, demand management, and MRP. Configured automatic account assignment for new valuation area and profit center hierarchy. Assisted with archiving obsolete data.

Implemented Engineering Change Management. Configured Document Management to use a data carrier to print AutoCAD drawings directly from the Material Master.

Three-month implementation of PP using pre-configured client. Responsible for integration with SD, MM, WM, and CO. (All of which were implemented during the same three months). Standard SOP, Demand Management, MRP, Production Order types, Scheduling, Capacity Evaluation, and Production Control. Time event confirmations using employee numbers. Responsible for all of product costing (including overhead cost sheets and cost components). Loaded production data from the client’s legacy system using CATT’s and the LSMW.

Production control configuration; production order types, capacity scheduling, capacity planning, MRP, availability. Integration of production control at UK production plant. Responsible for specifying and testing ABAP interfaces with third party finite scheduling software. Assisted with product costing, archiving obsolete master data and change management.

Participated in the selection and implementation of SAP R/3 to operate most of the division’s business processes. Configured (on-line) all PP and MM for a chemical process plant in release 2.1 H and responsible for configuration of PP through upgrades to release 3.1H. Configured portions of SD for shipping from a plant. Configured portions of CO for product costing. Developed and presented SAP training courses for management and hourly personnel.

Professional Background

Mark DeVoe has been involved in leading IT projects since 1990 when he lead the implementation of a LAN based computerized maintenance management system for Lonza’s Specialty Chemical Division. His roles have varied from being the sole integrator at Antioch’s implementation of SAP’s Engineering Change Management to being the team lead for a cross-functional group supporting Caterpillar Logistic’s global implementation of SAP R/3.

While the Lead MM Integrator at Bosch Automotive, Mark was responsible for coordinating the implementation of nearly all of the purchasing functionality available in SAP and, at the same time, insuring that the other modules were integrated with MM. He often assisted the WM team with their integration configuration and worked closely with the ALE team with their purchasing related EDI. He took on the additional responsibility of guiding the whole project team in the use of the ASAP methodology.

Most of the projects that Mark has worked on have included specifying, testing, and implementing custom processes. These custom processes have been implemented successfully without adversely affecting the project schedules.

Mark graduated from Georgia Institute of Technology with a BS Mechanical Engineering degree. He has held a "Q" clearance while he worked at the DOE – K25 and DOE-Savannah River Site facilities.
